About Digital Maryland

Come! Travel through our state and visit "America in Miniature." The images collected on these pages were submitted by K-12 classes throughout the state. They showcase special places that represent each of Maryland's counties. The Digital Maryland project is designed to encourage writing in the classroom by giving students a real audience. Classrooms participate by sending images of Maryland and accompanying narratives explaining significant details about their chosen sites. Not only do the writers benefit from the project but the readers do too. Student travelers can learn more about our state by taking virtual vacations. They can even take home memories of their "vacation" by downloading any of the images to use in their own multimedia productions about the state of Maryland. We hope you enjoy your ride on Maryland's cyber highways and rivers from the Allegheny mountains to the Atlantic coast.
