Maryland Teacher Technology Standard Five

Standard Five Indicators
V.    Integrating Technology into the Curriculum

Candidates will:

A.  Design, implement and assess learning experiences that incorporate technology in the candidates' delivery of a curriculum-related activity

  • Assess students' learning/instructional needs to identify the appropriate technology to meet the needs
  • Use technology tools appropriate to the discipline
  • Identify and apply best practices for integrating technology into instruction
  • Apply a variety of instructional strategies in the use of technology in the classroom
B.  Design, implement and assess learning experiences that incorporate student use of technology to support inquiry, problem-solving, communication, and/or collaboration.
  • Assess students' learning/instructional needs to identify the appropriate technology to meet the needs
  • Use technology tools appropriate to the discipline
  • Identify and apply best practices for integrating technology into instruction
  • Apply a variety of instructional strategies in the use of technology in the classroom
  • Evaluate technology materials and media to determine their most appropriate instructional use
  • Develop a scoring (s) for evaluating specific technology products of students
